Why cannot I scan any wireless network on Windows 7 or Vista with Kaspersky installed

If you are using Ms Windows 7 or Ms Windows vista and have set up Kaspersky Anti-virus software (KAV or KIS), you may experience a problem shown in image below that computer can’t find any Wi-Fi network.

The specific trend is you can set up the Wi-Fi adaptor efficiently, and the adaptor is identified very well by the OS, but you can’t see any Wi-Fi indication.

There are two Situations with this issue.

Situation 1:- Can’t enable Wireless Network connection after installing the driver successfully on Ms Window 7 or Ms Window Vista.

Situation 2:- Can’t check out any wireless network even if it shows the adaptor is already working fine after setting up the driver successfully on Ms Windows 7 or Ms Window vista.

Reason: - This issue is due to Self-Defense operating function of Kaspersky which is allowed automatically. It prohibits you to use the Wi-Fi adaptor normally and this happens in all type of brand's adapters.

Solution:-
Step 1. Double click the Kaspersky icon on the system tray to open its UI (User Interface). Then click Settings on the top right corner.

Step 2. Click Options on the left side, uncheck Enable Self-Defense, and click OK.

Step 3. Now you can Reinstall / Update driver of your wireless adapter.

Step 4. Go back to the Kaspersky settings and enable Self-Defense again, it will not block your adapter any more.
